Michael Portillo and the BBC visit Conwy Valley Railway Museum
We had a great Spring Bank Holiday week with lots of visitors enjoying the nice weather and a ride on the trains. Our good friends Steve and George came with their Denver loco 'Gunnison'. On the Sunday we had three steam locos pulling our trains - 'Gunnison', 'Old Rube' and 'Douglas', together with 'Gwydr Castle' on standby.
On Tuesday, 1st June, 2010 we were very excited when Michael Portillo and a BBC film crew visited to film for the new series of 'Great British Railway Journeys'. They interviewed Colin Cartwright and took lots of shots of the train and the museum. We now eagerly await January 2011 when the results will be broadcast!
On Thursday, 3rd June, 2010 we ran a goods train with 'Gwydr Castle' as well as double-heading the steam trains. The GP40 was also used to feature an All-American Day.
We have also completely restructed the pool and will be completing the landscaping in the near future.
